He has been the Additional Director General of Police in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He Did His Bachelor Of Engineering At The REC, Warangal And His M. Tech From The Indian Institute Of Technology, Madras. He went on to live the dream of serving the nation and became an IPS officer in the 1990 batch. He as a CBI Officer is known for his endless efforts in uprooting corruption. After Becoming the Joint Director of Central Bureau of Investigation, he has lead investigations including OMC Scandal, Emaar Properties, Satyam Scandal, Sohrabuddin Sheikh Fake Encounter, and Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s Case etc. He has been the inspector general of police under the Y category and a great speaker. He has also been awarded the Indian Police Medal In 2006. Being a Follower of Swami Vivekananda, he has associated himself with Social service for serving the nation. He has currently adopted the village Sahlahala Puttuga in Srikakulam and Chinnamandadi in Mahaboobnagar and is aiming to turn it into a model village. He has come up with the model where a village is treated as a nation and has appointed a PM, Health Minister, Women Empowerment Minister, who are the well-known people from the village and an assistant minister for each respectively.
J.D Laxmi Narayan has identified the immediate needs that the village has and have proposed it. These include the following:
1. Setting up a computer lab
2. Setting up a library
3. Providing Sports Facility
4. Providing cleaning and sanitation facility

Sahlahala Puttuga is a village in Sreekakulam that extends at the extreme end of Andhra Pradesh. With extensive poverty, lack of livelihood support, limited educational opportunities and dismal health conditions. The village has very basic agricultural production limited to cashew, coconut and almond. Due to lack of clean and safe drinking water a large number of population in the village is suffering from kidney diseases. The youth in the village in the absence of proper guidance are supposed to migrate outside the village in order to search for the sources of livelihood. Sri JD Laxmi Narayana garu has currently adopted, he is the Give Back champion for the village Sahlahala Puttuga and is aiming to turn it into a model village. He has endless passion for social service and works for the nation's wellbeing and development.
